ALMA

Our inspiration this week:

Jessica's Writing:
On a cold harsh winter’s day, a little girl called Alma skipped happily along the frostbitten street and came to a huge chalkboard with a thousand names on it. She looked at the ground and saw some broken up chalk that she could use to write her name down among all the other name written on the board she thought of how long they must have been there and decided to count all the ones that were visible. Alma paused and felt like there was something watching her like it was staring right through her. She turned around and saw a doll that looked very similar to her and was even wearing the same clothes. She ran to the door and gave it a tug but the door wouldn’t budge, filled with frustration Alma picked up a snowball and hurled it at the door and stormed off. As she walked off the door creaked open and revealed a shop filled with hundreds and thousands of dolls. Alma ran in and was astonished by all the dolls staring at her, she searched for the door and found it on another table. As she was about to pick it up she leaped back in fright and a wooden boy doll on a bike had been squashed by Almas fluffy boot. She stood him upright and she raced to the door but to closed before he got there. Alma stood up to go and retrieve her doll but when she looked up it had vanished, she looked around the room and found the doll on the top shelf. Alma was puzzled on how the doll has been moving around. She ran and jumped up onto a couch and started the climb, as she passed many different dolls their eyes followed her up the shelf. When she was finally at the top she went to grab it was there was a sudden flash and Alma was standing in the position the doll was and the dolls eyes became Alma's and from that day on she was never seen again.

What a nice winters day to go for a walk I thought to myself.

I walk down to the village wrapped in my warm scarf and big coat but then I notice that it's very quiet and
nobody is to be seen I look around one more time but still there is nobody, That's a bit strange for a day
like this I thought to myself  but still I carried on with my walk. Then I come across a big chalk board
it's filled with names and it looks like everyone who comes past writes their name, why not I thought I
write my name as neat as I can, Elma. Then I turn around to look at the other shops one shop was a doll
shop it had big doors that almost made it look a little bit like a big mouth because if you looked up there
were two little holes that were windows which you could make out as eyes, I turned back around but just
before I was going to carry on with my walk I saw something I turned around to take another look then
I see a doll that looks exactly like me I take a closer
look.......

WAIT it is me!

I get very interested in what is going on and walk inside but when i walk inside the doll is not there it is
sitting a little bit further in the shop I look around at all of the dolls some of them look really familiar, I
get more curios and stretch my hand out to touch the doll but just as my finger tips touch i see lots of
dolls but when it stops I look around but I cannot move nor talk but wait, if i was just in the doll shop that
means…..

I AM A DOLL!

The Turtle and the Big Wave

Prompt: A time in my life.

The turtle and the Big Wave
It was 2013 and I was in Maui, Hawaii for my dad's triathlon.
On this day we decided to go snorkeling, it was a very sunny, relaxing day
in Maui. We went down to the beach, but our snorkel gear on and started to
swim out to the coral reef. When we got to the reef, it was a explosion of colour.
Hundreds of fish swimming around us, swimming around the rocks and into the coral caves.
Beautiful colours flooded my eyes and it was wonderful.
I felt my dad tap me on the shoulder to turn me around.
What I saw was the most beautiful sea turtle, it was this amazing green
and it had these amazing big eyes that filled could filled you with joy.
And it was swimming through the water so peacefully and calmly.
We started to swim around and with the turtle. My mum and Felix swan to
have another look at the coral reef, but dad I and I stayed to look at the
turtle. Until this big wave come and pushed me under the water.
My snorkel filled up with salty water and I was struggling to breathe. My heart was starting to
beat faster now and I was wiggling around trying to breathe. Just then I felt my dad's hand
pulling me into sure. I started to kick to get to help him pull me into sure, but it was really hard
to move because I couldn't breathe.
After a long time dad finally got me into the sure and I was safe. My heart was starting to settle
down after what just happened. Mum And Felix saw what happened and come in to see if I
was ok, I was. I took a minute to breathe, then I stood up and dived right back into the sea.

What is the most beautiful sound in the world.

One of our prompts this week was 'What is the most beautiful sound in the world.'  We used Writing Sparks to draft our writing and then we chose how we would publish it.

The black out

In the night, the computers and everything deactivated. I used my iPad to shine from the room. The iPad quickly ran out and a explosion of darkness covered the room. I could hear Mum and Claire. I found them using flashlights and gave they gave me a cup of hot chocolate. The flashlight glitched out and soon a tornado of shadows covered the house.

I activated the flashlight and scared away the shadow spirits. I wandered through the house and found myself in a room of emptiness. I felt that i was about to be savaged and forgotten.

Mum soon contacted dad and took me and Claire into a room with the flashlights as lights. I felt like there was no hope of surviving this blackout. Then the power came back and the lights went back on as soon as the thought of not surviving went in me. When bad thoughts come in, good things happen. That was my horrible night as a kid.
